...If you didn't know I have been away for a week on the beautiful Gold Coast playing netball, making new friends, shopping, eating and dancing. We had a great time....but I am so glad to be home...still rather tired. Here are a few pictures to fill in my week.

Cards that I made before going away for our wonderful manager-Lynn, who came away with us, watched every game, washed our clothes and kept us all going all week. Thank you Lynn.
Jess- our umpire who came along with us, did our stats and cheered us on. Thanks to you Jess.
Vicky- who shared her birthday with us. Happy Birthday Vicky!

Us with the WA Jillaroos. A bunch of great ladies.

Don't Show Slater!

Here is a quilt that I made for Slater (see him here....isn't he cute) It is finally finished. Lucky because I have another niece/nephew due in 2 weeks!
Close up of the jellyfish. I used some metalic thread to quilt the jellyfish to lift them but you can't see this in the photo's.
Now let's hope the colours will match with Slater's room.....what do you think Kylie?
These qulits below were made for Ruby and Tia some time ago. I thought that I would put their pictures up also.

This is how it all starts.......

I can't wait to make the next one!

More distress ink cards

Hi there,
It is school holidays here and rather hectic.....however before the craziness began I did manage to make a few distress ink cards. In my distress inks post I said that I would like to make some more distress ink cards. If you want to make some go here for the instructions.....and have fun creating your own.

Lynn and I started making our Christmas Cards at Tuesday night craft. Some in not so traditional colours.

Then we started working on our fence..... this is the fenceline after the dozer had been in and cleared the old fence away. It was 4.1km long and we put the new fence up in 3 days. (520 steel posts, a pallet of barb wire and 2080 twitches later.) So happy that it is done!!

We did a little bit of sightseeing on our fencing retreat...LOL....
These are the "caves"............................a nearby dam............................. and the view from the caves.

 Very beautiful!

Distress ink cards

I stamped these images using distress inks. I inked up the stamp....using a green for the flower stem and an orange or blue for the flower top(you could use any colour you like), lightly misted the stamp with a water mister, then stamp it onto some cardstock (I used Bazzill). I stamped the same image up to 3 times before reinking giving different layers of intensity. The image appears like a water pastel rather than a clear stamped image. I like the effect that it gives. I liked it sooo much I have already given the top card away to a friend!! I will have to make some more like these....they are fun to make.....and very easy too!!

Happy Crafting

Pink Paisley Papers

These cards were created using some pink paisley double sided papers, flowers and a few buttons. One of the papers had all little images that you can cut up, matt and use as a feature picture on your card. Which I found really great. Make designing these cards very easy. (I'm all for easy crafting)
Awhile ago I had a go at dying buttons and today I used those buttons on these cards because the colours matched so well. They are a little hard to see in these photo's.
I like these cards they are not my normal/regular kind of card or my usual bright colours.

Purple...anyone!!

I must have been feeling rather "purply"!! I think that the owl is rather cute. I have used the big shot to cut out the circles and add the texture to the cards. Have to go craft now....See you soon. Gayle

R U buying new Christmas stamps....READ THIS.

Do you need to buy new Christmas stamps for making your Christmas cards each year. My answer is....No. I love to find new ways with my well loved stamps. Don't get me wrong I do love new stamps and papers and inks and buttons and ribbons and stickers and chipboard....but I do like to use what I have in my stash at the time of creating.
You may have noticed a bit of a break from bloggin lately....sorry about that.... life took over and I was just hanging on and trying not to fall off the ride. Now that life has settled down for a bit I was thinking that Christmas is just around the corner and I had better get my butt in top gear and make some Christmas Cards. I didn't have any new Christmas stamps so I had to come up with some clever ideas with my favourite stamps. These are simple ideas that can be adapted to make lot's of different cards. I hope that you can utilise your favourite stamps for Christmas this year.
Have fun revamping your favourite stamps.
