Just to show that sometimes grass can grow. (In the middle of a drought sometimes you doubt the ability of the land to ever grow grass again.)

 I saw this scrapbook layout on pinterest and wanted to try it for myself. I used the Big Shot to make the circles and I have used distress ink (walnut stain) to ink the edges of all the circles.

 More scrapbooking....Happy snaps from school trip!

Purple....

 Over the weekend I have managed to sit and complete a scrapbooking page. It rained a little here so everything slowed down. I had this photo from my neices graduation and it worked with the feature paper. It is a very simple page using papers, ribbons, buttons a butterfly embellishment and some glitter. (it is hard to see but the glitter is on the purple circles on the outer border)

 

 

 Usually when stitching one would assume that if you are to get injured you would prick yourself with the needle......I will share my story......I was sewing a button onto a pair of hubby's work shorts. It was rather tuff going through all the layers of  the cotton drill. I was using my middle finger to push the needle through and the eye end of the needle went into my finger. OUCH!! All good now....
Had to share....Tip of the day.....use a thimble.

The Ugly Paper Challenge results...

Hi and welcome to our Blog,

Today I am posting the results from our "Ugly Paper Challenge". It was not a competition, just a bit of fun to use up some of our more "challenging" papers. Scrapping and Cooking

Hi There Everyone, I made this "Upsidedown Pineapple Cake" which was very yummy. The recipe is on the back of the tin of pineapple. Now not only did I cook but I also managed to get some scrapbooking done. Surely it is going to rain!!

 Following on from my last post where I did cards for males here are some scrapbooking pages for males.

 This one I love how the lime green really makes it stand out.

What I did this Wednesday....

Hi there, I am sharing some photo's from Wednesday just gone. Scrap 4 Fun held a kids scrapbooking workshop, with the main aim of the workshop to teach making a banner as a title. I was very impressed with their outcomes and will share some of their work with you.

 

Below Mr T had recently visited the zoo and had some cool zoo photo's to scrap. Mr T. made his banner into a sign post!! See photo's below.

 I could not resist putting in this photo of Mr T's. photo....I thought that this sight was soooo cute. Reminded us of the giraffe in Madagascar...

 Below Mr E. had some photo's of a recent holiday. Mr E. had the longest title for his scrapping page and did a great job persisting and getting it all finished. Well Done Mr E.!!

 

Miss K. worked very hard to complete a very special layout about her family. See below.

 Random picture alert.....I saw these the other day heading out to our property.....it is a herd of emu's ...I normally see one or two and maybe a mother with it's young family but never this many all at once. I couldn't get them all in the picture I think that there may have been a few more in this group.

Add a banner to your title....

Hi there,

I have made a scrapbook page using the idea of a banner as the title. Using the Big shot, I cut out some fancy edged circles and folded over the tops on a piece of string, add some texture with the Big Shot, ink the edges of the circles, attached some letter stickers, tied some cute little bows on the ends and hung my banner. I think this is such an easy title idea.

 

 here.....I used the same idea of a banner but have used some cute little monsters as the flags.

Bargello Scrapped!!

I have managed to fit a little craft time into my hectic life over the couple of weeks. These were some old photo's that I had printed but had not managed to scrap yet so when we had a few days of rain I did just that......sit and scrap. I was very happy with my twisted bargello page. It is a double page but you can only see the title page here.

These are the 2 nieces when they were out here last time (both with static electricity in their hair) I like to think of them both as a Wild Child. The Zoology paper used here worked great.

 More photo's from our trip to Canberra, these ones are for my album. The other one's I gave to my Mum and Dad. So now my pile of photo's to scrap is looking better.
Go on!! Put a scrapbook page together now.....YES YOU!!

 ....and a few cards.....to keep me busy on these cold nights.......

 ....and here is Slater......He is very cute......I have had a visit and a long cuddle.....Congratulations to my Sister and Hubby.

Have you got lot's of photo's from one event/object. (Mine were taken with the camera in the portrait position) Group these photo's together across the page for maximum impact and embellish. This is one very easy scrapped page done and 6 less photo's in the queue to scrap!!

Next weekend we will be at the Roma Farmers and Artisan's Markets for some St Patrick's Specials........See you there.

Black and White plus One Challenge...

For the “Black and White plus one” challenge I decorated a ribbon holder. These come packaged as 6 pieces of wooden cut-outs that join together to make the box.Some of the wooden edges were painted and some covered with paper. On the top I painted the chipboard letters and applied a glossy top coat. The flowers were hand made from orgnaza (well that is what I will call it), the edges of the flowers were held over a flame to melt them into a petal shape. Then the rest was easy….just add some buttons, bling and ribbons (or as we say in the scrapbooking world….embellish!!).

My second crafted item is a button teacup. This one was inspired by the black and white beads. (That once upon a time were a very chunky necklace) Buttons and beads are wired together and held in the cup with hot glue and florist foam.

I have also created a scrapbooking page using a black, white and brown colour theme. The bark on the tree in the photo inspired the colour scheme.

I have enjoyed doing this challenge very much. It has taught me that any colour looks great with black and white!! I do like to use lot’s of different BOLD colours to craft with so this has made me craft outside my little box. Thanks for some fun!!

Album for Mum and Dad

I have mentioned that I was going to scrap an album for my parents of our recent holiday together. I have started this project and have made a good start on the album, I am hoping that it will be finished for Christmas. I have tried to also incorporate relevant photos to Dad's days in Vietnam. Enjoy and be inspired to keep the memories.
