Hello visitors to our blog,
Just wanted to let you know that we are still here.....life is hectic at the moment.
I have been particularly busy with all that I do....work, farm work (a bit of a drought crisis going on here.....water has to be checked regularly, cattle to feed and cattle have been moved, rabbits and kangaroos are eating everything in sight and it has not rained for 4 months, dams are drying up and need desilting) school holidays, markets, presentation night, concert(Alan Jackson was super), crafting(painting, hand stitching, card making) and welcoming visitors (my Dad dropped in for a quick visit on route to the Simpson Desert).
Hence.....not blogging regularly....very sorry about this.

K's Christmas Cards

Hi Everyone,

Christmas time is getting well on the way here, the girls finish school today, the Christmas tree is up and Chirstmas cards have been sent...

These cute little fairies and elves were soaking up the early sun the other morning and caught my attention. A friend made these....see her work here 

 

 K. made these for her friends at school. I was very proud of her she went and sat at my scrapping desk and about 1/2 hour later had 5 cards ready to write on. After they dried she wrote on them and added a little blue sky (this was added after these photo's)

Curly Christmas Tree

I made Thank-You cards using this idea, see them here, and with the left over paper I made this Christmas Card. I layered the papers with a torn edge toward the botton and curled the paper up on the torn edge. I have used a page from an old book as the backing paper....it just happened to be "Alice in Wonderland".

Now I probably need to write on all my Christmas Cards and get them out.

More distress ink cards

Hi there,

It is school holidays here and rather hectic.....however before the craziness began I did manage to make a few distress ink cards. In my distress inks post I said that I would like to make some more distress ink cards. If you want to make some go here for the instructions.....and have fun creating your own.

 

 Lynn and I started making our Christmas Cards at Tuesday night craft. Some in not so traditional colours.

 

 Then we started working on our fence..... this is the fenceline after the dozer had been in and cleared the old fence away. It was 4.1km long and we put the new fence up in 3 days. (520 steel posts, a pallet of barb wire and 2080 twitches later.) So happy that it is done!!

 We did a little bit of sightseeing on our fencing retreat...LOL....
These are the "caves"............................a nearby dam............................. and the view from the caves.

R U buying new Christmas stamps....READ THIS.

Do you need to buy new Christmas stamps for making your Christmas cards each year. My answer is....No. I love to find new ways with my well loved stamps. Don't get me wrong I do love new stamps and papers and inks and buttons and ribbons and stickers and chipboard....but I do like to use what I have in my stash at the time of creating.
You may have noticed a bit of a break from bloggin lately....sorry about that.... life took over and I was just hanging on and trying not to fall off the ride. Now that life has settled down for a bit I was thinking that Christmas is just around the corner and I had better get my butt in top gear and make some Christmas Cards. I didn't have any new Christmas stamps so I had to come up with some clever ideas with my favourite stamps. These are simple ideas that can be adapted to make lot's of different cards. I hope that you can utilise your favourite stamps for Christmas this year.

Gift Card Idea!!

Here's an easy idea....create a pocket onto your card to place a gift card.
Now who wouldn't love to receive one of these. I will be making these for those hard to buy for nephews in our family.(teenage boys!!) I cranked up the sewing machine to make the pocket on the card. I had lot's of little scraps of Christmas papers leftover from making my Christmas cards and decided to use some of them up with this quick idea. Attach a sticker and embellish!!

Since we have been getting lot's of rain....K decided that it would be a good idea to have a mud bath.... needless to say she now has glowing skin!!

Christmas Cards.

I am getting very excited as tonight our craft group do the BIG reveal.....The Black and White plus One challenge gets revealed tonight at craft. I will post my challenge entries very soon. So as for now you will have to settle for some Christmas cards. I have tried with these 2 cards to use up some scraps of paper and have also tried to layer the cards. It is a little hard to see in the pictures but in some places the card has 4 layers.

The bottom card is not made with Christmas papers.

You can do anything with a little imagination!!!

Very Simple......Christmas Card

Hi all,
Yes we are heading into the silly season and Christmas cards are needed real quick so here is one that is super easy. It is made with the gorgeous bo bunny 6x6" Father Christmas papers (great for making cards) and they all coordinate so you can't go wrong.

Kids Workshop 15th December

The group of children should be proud, between them all they made

84 Christmas Cards.

Most of these were originals as each had some personality from the maker of the card thown in. (I got a few ideas from the kids too as a bonus) I would like to thank two people who helped me out on the day Rachel and Debra. I really don't think that I could have done it without you both helping along the way.

Some of the group made this design using the punched flowers, some used circles, some used Christmas trees. Have a go at home with a punch that you have and put it into a tree shape and there is a very quick and easy Christmas Card.

This is one of the handmade Christmas cards. I think that this design was a favourite for quite a few in the group.

This was the group of crafty card makers doing a rather elegant pose with their favourite card from the day.

This Saturday...

....is the Injune Challenge reveal date and Christmas Party. I am looking forward to seeing all the other creations from the challenge packs. I found it very difficult to work with these coulour in the material range as these are not "my" colours. Let me leave it at that for now. But check back in soon to see when all is revealed.
I am off now for a Kids Christmas Card Workshop. They should churn out a few cards between them all. Will post some photos from the workshop today later.

It's that....

.....busy time of year again. We all know about it, we do it again year after year and we always say to ourselves "next year I'll be more organised" or "I'll make my christmas cards through the year". So here is a quick card that you can churn out heaps of to get the ball rolling.

Both Brooke and I had a great time away. The masters netball was an awesome experience. There was some great competition on the coast and hopefully we will be going back with a larger team. We had a few break downs away and this was costly to our game.

I am sure Brooke enjoyed her trip to Goondiwindi too. (Let's hope she remembered her ear plugs)
