Introducing Pat!!

I love school holidays...I have spent some time with my new little dog...Pat...he is very playful and a pleasure to have around the home. He keeps me company! Over the holidays we went away for a few days so Pat had to have a sleep over at Grandma's....Pat does not like chooks!! Pat went on chain!!
While we were away we got to paddle down the Mary River at my brother in laws. We all had a turn and ended up with a wet behind. Nice!!
We also had a go at ice skating......lots of fun......this I managed to stay upright.
I was, according to the girls very slow and stayed near the edge. Rachel fell over quite a few times and ended up with a purple knee and Kirsten did the old sympathy fall......someone fell over in front of her and she fell over as an act of sympathy;)
We also got to meet our newest nephew, Fletcher. Here is Ruby showing off her new brother.
Now, I don't normally take a photo of my washing but todays was particularly impressive. I washed a quilt to go in our quilt show on the weekend and had a few others that I washed and I thought what a great photo this would take....so Ta Da!!
I have made a few cards yesterday that I will add to the blog rather soon....so I hope to see you back soon.

Christmas Quilt done and dusted...

....YEAH!!! I am super organised for Christmas this year....I have my Christmas quilt finished. (Nobody knows that I was hoping to have it finished for last Christmas:)
This quilt was a BOM in Homespun Magazine last year. I changed the colours to suit and I have changed some blocks slightly along the way. I am super happy with the finished quilt.

Bits and Pieces

Off the page....
A canvas for hubby.
A range of photos from our cattle, pets and GRASS!!
Just to show that sometimes grass can grow. (In the middle of a drought sometimes you doubt the ability of the land to ever grow grass again.)
I saw this scrapbook layout on pinterest and wanted to try it for myself. I used the Big Shot to make the circles and I have used distress ink (walnut stain) to ink the edges of all the circles.
More scrapbooking....Happy snaps from school trip!
Hope that you can get some photo's scrapbooked or created into something off the page.

Layered stamping

As promised, the card that I gave to a dear friend last month. While looking through a stamping magazine a found this technique where you have the 3 pieces of paper that you are stamping on layered on top of each other then you stamp your image/s. Once you have finished stamping you add your mounts (brown cards). I love the finished effect.

Rain!

We had a miracle on our other block in the form of a storm which dumped nearly 4 inches of rain very quickly and filled our very dry dams. We had taken most of the cattle off this block due to the dry so now we can restock again.
 Grass in the making......
On a crafty note....we have been tidying up over the holidays and this card was found. It belongs with this post here. I love these funky houses. They are great for using up all those scraps of papers.

I have made a card recently for a friend, but I can't share this with you yet as the recipient is still yet to receive it. Check back soon!!

Looking back...

No cards made here sadly......  I do wish that there was twice as many hours in a day so that I could get all the crafting done that I want..Oh to dream....
So I wanted to share cards that I have made for my 2 daughters over the years. I am glad to say that over the years my card making skills have grown.
They are not in any particular order....this is how they come out of the box. Enjoy!

The black flowers are rub ons and the rach is traced around some chipboard letters and glitter added.
A personal favourite technique of mine is to add hand drawn stitches to the edge of my cards.
I love to use up my scraps and I also love bright colours....who would of guessed...
This is an old one....using chalks

 Trying different shaped cards.

Something different....may have to try this again one day....it is a fun card.

 GIRLS=GLITTER
This one was for a 6th birthday and the 6th butterfly was on the inside of the card.
I hope that you have enjoyed stepping back in time with cards from the past.

Hello visitors to our blog,
Just wanted to let you know that we are still here.....life is hectic at the moment.
I have been particularly busy with all that I do....work, farm work (a bit of a drought crisis going on here.....water has to be checked regularly, cattle to feed and cattle have been moved, rabbits and kangaroos are eating everything in sight and it has not rained for 4 months, dams are drying up and need desilting) school holidays, markets, presentation night, concert(Alan Jackson was super), crafting(painting, hand stitching, card making) and welcoming visitors (my Dad dropped in for a quick visit on route to the Simpson Desert).
Hence.....not blogging regularly....very sorry about this.
A recent card I made
Presentation night......dressed up!
Our stall with it's aussie theme.
Truck loaded with cattle to go to feedlot.
Another recent card I have made.
School holiday painting fun....gotta love that....just wish there was more time for this.
Happy crafting to you...
